Recovery from trauma

I have a particular interest in working with people who have suffered trauma in their lives. I use the most recent developments in research-informed therapy; helping clients to stabilise and providing coping skills to manage symptoms. From that foundation, we can then safely address more difficult material before moving into meaning making and reclaiming the future. My approach is science based, but gives scope for creativity. It is said that “the body remembers”. We can use body-based (somatic) approaches such as movement, breath work and posture as well as more traditional talking/cognitive approaches to process trauma effectively and to bring lasting relief.
